Dr. Hanley is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. He graduated from the Eastern Virginia Medical School at Norfolk, VA in 1988 and completed his Pediatrics Residency at the Jacksonville, Florida Health Educations Programs in 1991. He combined office-based practice with Pediatric ER care prior to joining Ochsner in 2009.
Dr. Hanley remains active in Pediatric Pre-Hospital Care and serves as the Pediatric Advisor for the Gulf Coast (Alabama Region VI) Emergency Medical Services System as well as adjunct Faculty for several Emergency Medical Technician / Paramedic Training Programs. Dr. Hanley also serves on the Louisiana State Faculty for the Advanced Trauma Life Support Course. He is the Author of the Chapter, "Care of the Newborn" in Up to Date and serves as Consulting Editor for the Open Access Emergency Medicine Journal.
Memberships include the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Association of EMS Educators, American Association of Clinical Toxicology, as well as a Founding member of the Society for Pediatric Sedation and Association of Healthcare Emergency Preparedness Professionals.
