Dr. Area earned his medical degree from the Duke University Medical School in Durham, North Carolina where he also completed his Family Medicine residency. He began practicing Family Medicine in 1978 and joined the Ochsner staff in 1986. Dr. Area is board certified in family medicine and practices at Ochsner Clinic Foundation Lakeview Family Practice. Dr. Area is fluent is Spanish.
