I read a book about the Tsarevich of Russia who had hemophilia when I was about 10 years old, and developed interest in being a doctor then. I was very lucky to have mentors in family medicine in medical school who were wonderful role models. I have been a board-certified family physician for a bit more than 25 years. I have experience for 20 years in private practice in Memphis, followed by over 3 years experience working with the Indian Health Service in the Navajo Nation in Arizona and Utah. I came back home to Louisiana to be near my family, and to work in a great environment here at Ochsner.
