A certified Physician Assistant, Emily Lewis Hill received her undergraduate degree at Louisiana State University where she graduated cum laude with a bachelor of arts in communication sciences and disorders. She continued her education at the University of South Alabama where she received a master's degree in health sciences and physician assistant studies. Ms. Lewis Hill is board-certified by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners and the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She has an active license to prescribe controlled substances with the United States Drug Enforcement Administration and non-controlled medications through the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy. She has been employed by the Ochsner plastic and reconstructive surgery department for 12 years and has also been working on an as-needed basis in Ochsner's emergency department for over 2 years as a physician assistant.
Ms. Lewis Hill is well-versed in many aspects of patient care and plays a major role in the outpatient, inpatient and operating room setting. She has her own clinic schedule where she cares for post-op and new patient consults. She performs minor procedures for skin cancer removal, cyst removal, earlobe repairs and other surgeries performed under local anesthesia. She does the three-dimensional nipple areola tattoos for breast reconstruction patients and is the only licensed medical professional in the city to offer this service.
