Ever since I was a young girl I wanted to go into the nursing field. I received my Associated degree in nursing from Charity Nursing School in New Orleans in 2010. I worked for Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans on the cardio-thoracic surgery step-down unit for 2-1/2 years. While working, I attended Louisiana State University Health Science Center in New Orleans and received my Bachelor's degree in Nursing in 2013. I also have experience in Home Health and worked at a local home health agency for 2 years. My family, including my husband and 22 year old son, moved to Baton Rouge. I began working at Ochsner Hospital, Baton Rouge in January 2015 on the telemetry unit. During my 3-1/2 years working on this unit, I attended Southeastern Louisiana University Nursing Graduate School and received my Masters in Nursing Science in December 2017. I transferred to the hematology/oncology group in June 2018 and have been working under and for a wonderful group of physicians and nurses.
I believe in treating everyone in a manner in which I would like to be treated. Involving patients in their plan of care and education facilitates positive patient health outcomes and is something I am passionate about.
