Dr. Carey Clifton is a native of Louisiana and alumnus of Louisiana State University. Following his undergraduate studies in Baton Rouge, he earned his doctorate degree in podiatric medicine from Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa. He then proceeded to complete a 3-year comprehensive podiatric medicine and surgery residency with Rearfoot Reconstruction from Iowa Methodist Medical Center, a Level 1 Trauma Center, in Des Moines. There, Dr. Clifton served as Chief Resident from 2018 to 2019.Dr. Clifton has been fortunate to present research at both the state and national levels over the course of his training. He enjoys getting people back to a healthy lifestyle both surgically and non-surgically. His interests include both pediatric and adult flatfoot deformities, arthritic conditions of the foot and ankle, trauma, forefoot and rearfoot conditions, diabetic limb salvage, sports medicine, and arthroscopy. Dr. Clifton enjoys working with patients and providing them options for their care. He believes the patient is the center of their health and works to provide a teamwork approach in their medical care. Outside of the office, Dr. Clifton is an avid outdoorsman and LSU fan, enjoys cooking, traveling to national parks, being active in the community, and spending time with his family.
