Dr. Jose D. Tafur graduated medical school from Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia in 2007. He completed his internship and internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston in 2012. He continued to do his fellowship in cardiology at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA, followed by additional training in interventional cardiology and structural heart disease at Ochsner. Dr. Tafur is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), Echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography (NBE) and Endovascular Medicine by the American Board of Vascular Medicine (ABVM).His main interests are in valvular and structural heart disease, transcatheter valve replacement and high-risk complex coronary interventions. Dr. Tafur is fluent in Spanish.
