Overview

  • Dr. Short completed Medical School at Barry University School of Medicine following a double major undergraduate degree in Biology and Psychology from Florida State University. He pursued and completed a 3-year surgical residency at Millcreek Community Hospital and the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) in Erie, Pennsylvania. Following residency, he was selected for the Sports Medicine and Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery Fellowship at the Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle, Washington. Following his Fellowship, he practiced for 10 years with the Carondelet Medical Group in Tucson, Arizona. In 2016, he transitioned to assist with the establishment of The Northwest Allied Physicians Foot and Ankle Sports Medicine and Peripheral Neuropathy Institute. As of January 2019, he joined the Ochsner Healthteam in New Orleans. He is Board Certified in Foot & Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ABFAS) and a Fellow of the Academy of Extremity Nerve Surgeons (AENS). He specializes in all foot and ankle conditions for both children and adults with specific medical interests pertaining to both the conservative and surgical treatments of sports medicine injuries, tendon pathology, and peripheral nerve disease/neuropathy. Currently, he is pursuing an Executive Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Southern California.He has been highly rated by RateMDs.com as a Best Doctor.
