Alicia Bates earned her doctorate in Nursing Education and Administration from William Carey University in 2017. She earned both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degree in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, MS. She is board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Pracitioners and currently practices in the Diabetes Management Program at Ochsner Baton Rouge. Alicia is a Certified Diabetes Educator and is a professional member of the American Diabetes Association, as well as the American Association of Diabetes Educators. She has been practicing at Ochsner since 2014. Her special interests include management of insulin pumps and intensive insulin therapy. Prior to joining Ochsner, Alicia worked as a Nurse Practitioner in the Cardiology/Electrophysiology department.
