Dr. Matthews is board certified in Diagnosti Radiology by the American Board of Radiology with 30+ years experience practicing with Ochsner Medical Foundation. He completed additional training in Radiologic Pathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Washington, DC and a fellowship in ultrasound and computed tomography with Ochsner Medical Foundation. His clinical work is focused on chest radiology and includes general radiology.
Dr. Matthews is engaged in research and education and has several publications and presentations from his research activities. He is actively involved with Ochsner's postgraduate educational program and is a past recipient of the Outstanding Physician and Teacher of the Year awards from the Department of Radiology. He serves on several institutional committees and is the head of the CT section at the Main Campus. He also holds an appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor of Radiology at Tulane Medical School.
