Dr. Mermilliod is a native of New Orleans who received her bachelor of science in occupational therapy from Louisiana State University (LSU) Medical Center, then went on to graduate with honors (Alpha Omega Alpha) from LSU Medical School in New Orleans. She completed her dermatology residency at LSU Health Sciences Center and is board certified in dermatology. She has been on staff at Ochsner since the summer 200 and was named chair of the dermatology department in the spring of 2006. Subsequently, she was named the system chair of the dermatology department in 2014. She is active in a variety of professional organizations, including the American Academy of Dermatology, Louisiana Dermatological Society, and Women's Dermatologic Society. Her areas of interest include medical and surgical dermatology, with a special focus in psoriasis and hidradenitis suppurativa.
