Dr Steiner completed medical school at the University of Texas in Houston in 1981. He completed his General Surgery residency and an ECMO fellowship at LSU in New Orleans and the Ochsner Clinic. His Pediatric Surgery Fellowship was completed at LeBonheur Children's Hospital and the St Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis TN.He has practiced Pediatric General Surgery in New Orleans as a member of the Tulane Medical Faculty and the Ochnser Clinic since 1993. He joined the Ochsner Clinic full time in 2014.His major clinical interests are pediatric congenital anomalies, pediatric oncology, short gut syndrome and ECMO.Dr Steiner is board certified in General and Pediatric General Surgery. He is a member of the AMA, the American Pediatric Surgical Association, the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
