Dr. Sean Collins specializes in the treatment of prostate, bladder and kidney cancers with minimally invasive surgery. A native New Orleanian, Dr. Collins earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry cum laude from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, VA in 1993. He earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans in 1997 where he was a member of Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. From 1997 until 1999, Dr. Collins completed two years of general surgery residency at LSU-Ochsner in preparation for the LSU-Ochsner Urology residency program which he completed from 1999 through 2003. After practicing in New Orleans for two years, Dr. Collins was selected for the Columbia University – Southwest Oncology Group fellowship in minimally invasive urologic oncology in New York, NY. After returning to New Orleans, Dr. Collins developed surgical programs at multiple medical centers in South Louisiana. He has written book chapters, published in peer-reviewed journals, and is a reviewer for multiple medical journals. His current research focuses on surgical outcomes. He is the surgeon champion for the American College of Surgeons National Surgical Quality Improvement Program at Ochsner Baptist and is the Chair of Regional Urology. Dr. Collins is board certified by the American Board of Urology.
