Overview
- Dr. Shobha Joshi received her medical degree from the University of Bombay in India. After completing her internal medicine training at the Sinai Hospital of Baltimore and LSU Affiliated Program, she performed her clinical and research gastroenterology fellowship at Tulane University and the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Joshi was an Associate Professor of Medicine at St. Louis University School of Medicine. During this time, she took care of liver transplant patients and general hepatology patients in addition to performing basic research. She was involved in the development of a hepatitis B drug and has participated in multiple clinical trials for the treatment of hepatitis B, C, and encephalopathy. Since moving to New Orleans, Dr. Joshi continued her clinical and research work at Tulane University Hospital and Clinic. In 2008, Dr. Joshi joined Ochsner Clinic Foundation as Director of Hepatology Research and Transplant Hepatologist.
