Dr. Dauterive earned his medical degree from LSU in New Orleans and completed his internship and residency at Ochsner. He is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Dr. Dauterive has been on staff at Ochsner since 1987. In addition to his role as Department Chairman at Ochsner Health Center Baton Rouge, Dr. Dauterive is Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baton Rouge General Health Center. His clinical interests include the promotion of natural labor methods and obstetrical ultrasound. In the area of gynecology, his interests include laparoscopic surgery, including complete laparoscopic hysterectomy and laparoscopic burch procedures, hysteroscopic surgery, pelvic reconstructive surgery, general infertility evaluation and menopausal management. Dr. Dauterives professional interests include quality management in the clinical practice of medicine. He currently serves as Head of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Ochsner Health Center Baton Rouge.
