Dr. Kristopher Katira received his undergraduate degree from the University of Louisiana Lafayette and his medical degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in plastic surgery at Case Western in Cleveland, Ohio. He also completed a microsurgery fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has been on staff at Ochsner since August 2018. Dr. Katira's expertise is in reconstructive microsurgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery, in particular, breast and extremity reconstruction after cancer or trauma. His additional specialties include limb salvage, sarcoma, breast reduction, skin grafting, radiation injury, lymphedema, surgery after weight loss, hardware salvage, and aesthetic surgery. He also practices cosmetic surgery, abdominal wall reconstruction, wound and complex wound care, complex reconstructive surgery, and peripheral nerve surgeryDr. Katira is originally from south Louisiana and enjoys spending time with his spouse Hannah and his three children.
