Overview

  • Dr. George Loss earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in religion from Dartmouth College, his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Arkansas, and his Ph.D. in immunology from the University of Chicago. He completed his surgical residency and fellowships in transplantation research and multi-organ transplantation at the University of Chicago. Dr. Loss joined the staff of the Ochsner Clinic in 1998. He was named Chief of the Ochsner Multi-Organ Transplant Institute in July 2005, Chair, Department of Surgery in 2012, Associate Medical Director of Surgery in 2013, and Chief of Surgical Services in November 2014. He assumed the role of Regional Medical Director for Ochsner Medical Center (OMC) in January of 2019.
