Dr. Theodore Atkinson received his undergraduate degree from Xavier University in New Orleans and medical degree from University of Mississippi Medical School in Jackson, MS. Following this, he completed his internship and residency at Letterman Army Medical Center in San Francisco, CA. He completed his fellowship in Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso, TX. Dr Atkinson is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a new addition to the staff at Ochsner. Dr Atkinson has been practicing medicine since 1980. Dr Atkinson's expertise is in the areas of followup care of high risk newborns, children with complex chronic medical illnesses and developmental issues in children under 6 years of age.
