Sydney Tyson, CNM, received her undergraduate degrees from The University of Southern Mississippi, and MSN from Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, KY. She trained with the El Rio midwives in Tucson, AZ as well as with New Life in Edinburg, TX. She was able to work and live at Holy Family Birthing Center in Weslaco, TX, and she credits that experience with teaching her both about improving access to high quality maternity care and respect for physiologic birth. She also worked at UMC Brackenridge, Seton Main Medical Center and with a collaborative practice OB/GYN North in Austin, TX. She is thrilled to be back home and enjoys the relationships she is able to build with patients throughout the childbearing year. She supports women through education and listening as they make decisions for themselves and their families.
