Marie deMahy Rathe is a native of Louisiana who earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Louisiana Lafayette in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the Loyola University in New Orleans in 2002 and is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.Adult cardiovascular surgery, off-pump heart surgery, heart valve repair and replacement, thoracic surgery and thoracoscopic surgeryMrs. Rathe's current experiences include working as the lead nurse practitioner in the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Department and as a Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) assisting in cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries since 2004. Previous experiences include 14 years as a patient care coordinator working in an orthopedic clinic coordinating patient care and assisting in surgery followed by 2 years as a nurse practitioner in family practice while working prn as a CRNFA in a multispecialty surgical capacity.
