Dr. John Wood is a native of Louisiana. Dr. Wood is excited to return to the Ochsner family, having been treated for childhood leukemia at Ochsner in New Orleans. John is married to Kelly Heroman Wood, a Baton Rouge native, and they have two young children, Lucy Bea and John Isaac.He began his undergraduate work at LSU under the Early Admissions Program then earned a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Virginia. After his undergraduate studies, he worked in cancer biology research at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine where he also studied in the School of Public Health, before entering medical school at Vanderbilt.He has 6 publications in peer reviewed journals and has presented his research at national meetings. He is a member of several professional societies including the American Academy of Otolaryngology, American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and the American Rhinologic Society
