Dr. Rashid Joseph Tamimie is a board-certified physician in occupational and environmental medicine. He received his Doctorate in Medicine from Southern Illinois School of Medicine in 1979 after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois.Following a residency program in occupational medicine at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in which he was the chief resident, he completed a fellowship in occupational and environmental health at Eastern Kodak in Rochester, New York. He became board certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine in 1986 and subsequently a fellow of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine.Dr. Tamimie has over thirty years of clinical experience in occupational medicine serving in various capacities including as the director of occupational medicine for several companies, organizations, and hospitals in the New Orleans metropolitan area. He is a past president of the Louisiana and Mid-South Occupational and Environmental Medical Associations and served for a number of years on their board of directors. He is delighted and very excited to join the Ochsner Health care community.
