Dr. Kevin Doulens earned his medical degree from Tulane University in New Orleans. He completed his orthopedic surgery internship and residency at Fort Worth Affiliated Hospitals in Fort Worth, Texas. He then completed his orthopedic fellowship in sports medicine and shoulder surgery at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. Dr. Doulens is a senior lecturer at the University of Queensland School of Medicine at Ochsner. From 2006 to 2009, he held the academic position of assistant professor in the University of Florida Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation, specializing in sports medicine. From 2012 to 2015, Dr. Doulens held the academic position of clinical instructor for the Orthopedic Physician Assistant Program at the University of St. Augustine in Florida. Dr. Doulens was the team physician for the Jacksonville Suns minor league baseball organization and the Jacksonville Barracudas minor league ice hockey team, along with several college and high school teams. He served as the medical director of the Jacksonville Marathon from 2007 to 2014. His clinical interests include sports injuries and shoulder and knee arthroscopy and reconstruction. Dr. Doulens is board certified in orthopedics with a certification of advanced qualifications (CAQ) in sports medicine from the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (FAAOS) and is also a fellow of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) and the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA).
